Character Placer

Creates a root and control point for an Auto Rig asset.

All rigs require a character placer. This tool puts down a node that contains rig settings such as the Character Name and Path, but has no interactivity. This tool is used for building biped and quadruped characters.

Using Character Placer

  1. Click the Character Placer tool on the Auto Rigs tab.

Note

The character placer is always placed at the origin and cannot be moved.

Parameters

Character Name

The name of your character and the name of the file that gets created.

Library Path

The location where your file is saved.

Use Geometry

Allows you to get source geometry from a file or a scene.

Geometry File

The path of the geometry file.

Scene Object

The path of the scene object.

Geometry Color

Changes the color of your geometry.

Geometry Opacity

Changes the opacity of your geometry.

Symmetry

Turns the character’s symmetry on or off.

Character Scale

Allows you to re-size the character.

Display Controls

Makes the controls visible or invisible.

Control Scale

Allows you to re-size the controls.
