Pump from Objects

Gives the fluid a velocity as soon it touches the surface.

This tool can be used to give fluid direction. It can also be used to create a spray effect, such as a fire hose.

This tool only works with volume based fluid.

Using Pump from Objects

  1. Create a fluid container.

    For more information on containers see: Smoke Container, Flamefront Container, and Liquid Container.

  2. Create two geometry objects within the container.

  3. Click the Source from Objects tool on the Volume Fluids tab, select the object to generate the source, and press Enter to confirm your selection.

  4. Select the container, and press Enter to confirm your selection.

  5. Click the Pump from Objects tool on the Volume Fluids tab, select the object to generate the velocity, and press Enter to confirm your selection.

  6. Select the container, and press Enter to confirm your selection.

  7. Set the Velocity for the pump in the parameter editor of the Motion node to control the rate at which the fluid is pumped from the source.

In this example, the sphere is the source and the box is the pump.
