On the Create tab of the shelf, click the
Grid tool.
Rename the geometry node from
grid_object1toflag.At the geometry level, adjust the following parameters
Set the Orientation to XY plane.
Set the Size to
10and15.Set the Rows and Columns to
20x20.
At the object level, make sure the
flagnode is selected. On the Cloth tab of the shelf, click the
Cloth Object button.
This will turn your grid into a cloth object.
In the AutoDopNetwork, select cloth object.
On the Material tab, adjust the Stiffness parameter’s Stretch/Shear/Bend values to
10000/500/500.Note
The stiffness value is very high because stretch is undesirable in this example.
Adjust the Damping parameter’s Stretch/Shear/Bend values to
20/50/50.Tip
Turn on the display of points by clicking the
display points button on the display options toolbar.
Pin a side of the flag by clicking the
Cloth Pin Constraint tool on the Cloth tab of the shelf, selecting all the points along a side of the flag, and pressing Enter.
Append a
Wind force node to the pin constraint node using the tab menu.
Modify the following parameters
On the Wind tab, set the X value of Velocity to
100.On the Noise tab, set the Turbulence to
3.The Y value of Frequency to
40.The Y value of Amplitude to
5.The Y value of Offset to
$F.
Turn on the display flag of the wind force node and press
play button on the playbar.
The parameter values in this example are merely suggestions. Customizing the grid topology, divisions, wind force and noise, stiffness, and damping will result in different cloth reactions.
