The basic principles in this example can also be used to simulate holograms, ghosts, force fields, etc.

  1. Create an object with another object inside it. In this example we will use an egg with a bunny inside it.

  2. On the material pallette, select the glow shader from the General section.

  3. In the parameter editor of the glow shader, turn in the Invert and the Enable Emission checkboxes.

    You can modify the Glow Color, Glow Ramp Rate, and Emission to achieve your desired look.

  4. Drag the glow shader icon from the material pallette onto your objects in the viewport.

  5. Render your image.
