= Cloth simulations = == Overview == The cloth solver simulates deformable surfaces. A variety of surface types can be simulated, including fabric, rubber, and metal. Any piece of SOP geometry can be turned into a cloth object, no triangulation is required. See [relationships|relationships] for how to make cloth interact with other objects. == Shelf tools == The [Cloth shelf tab|/shelf/cloth] contains tools for creating cloth sheets. You can also use the [forces|forces] on the [Drive simulation shelf tab|/shelf/drivesimulation] to affect the cloth. The [Cloth Constraint tool|/shelf/clothpinconstraint] lets you pin a point on a cloth object to a point in space or another object. == Important nodes == - [Cloth object|Node:dop/clothobject] - imports geometry to use as a cloth sheet. - [Cloth solver|Node:dop/clothsolver] - [Cloth constraint|Node:dop/sbdpinconstraint] == Useful cloth object parameters == Stretch stiffness: The resistance to stretching. Higher numbers mean the cloth is harder to stretch. Shear: Resistance to shearing (forces along the plane of the cloth; if you stretched a square into a parallelogram that force would be shearing). This affects creasing where cloth is draped over a corner, as in a tablecloth on a table. Bend stiffness: Increase this to make the cloth smoother/more resistant to wrinkles.
