= How to |> smash an object and emit debris = * Create a model of something to smash. * Use either the [Break|Node:sop/break] or [Shatter|Node:sop/shatter] tools on the __Model__ shelf to cut your geometry automatically. The break tool cuts your model along a jagged line one time, whereas the shatter tool cuts your model along a jagged line multiple times. * Use either the [RBD Fractured Object|Node:dop/rbdfracturedobject] or [RBD Glue Object|Node:dop/rbdglueobject] tools on the __Rigid Bodies__ shelf to turn your object into a dynamic object. The RBD fractured object tool will make your model break apart with very little force, whereas the RBD glue object tool will hold your model together until a strong force is applied to it. * Select the RBD object and click the [Debris|/shelf/debris] tool on the __Create Particles__ shelf. This will emit particles from the edges of the separating pieces. [Image:/images/howto/vase1.png] [Image:/images/howto/vase2.png] [Image:/images/howto/vase3.png] * You can then replace each particle with a shape or image using the [Instance|/shelf/instance], [Render|/shelf/render], or [Sprite|/shelf/sprite] tools on the __Drive Particles__ shelf.
