Ground Plane

Creates an infinite ground plane suitable for RBD, cloth, or wire simulations.

This is useful to simulate ground as it covers infinite space. The surface created by a terrain object, on the other hand, is only as big as the original geometry.

Using Ground Planes

  1. Click the Ground Plane tool on the Rigid Bodies tab.

Note

You can transform, rotate, scale, and keyframe the ground plane at various frames.

Switching to the dynamics level

  1. Click the Dynamics Select Mode button on the selector and handle controls toolbar.

  2. Click the ground plane in the scene view.

For specific parameter help see the Ground Plane dynamics node help.
