A fast way to reference a tracked camera created by pftrack. The asset contains a chopnetwork that references a clip file and exports it to the camera in the asset. The pointdata can be used, too.

A very basic implementation of a Dpx IMG plugin that only supports reading 10-bit files.

To use this plugin, compile it with hcustom and move the generated dso or dll to ~/houdini/dso/fb.

Make a copy of $HH/FBformats in ~/houdini and add this line to the end of it:

IMG_Dpx.so

When it is correctly installed, running iconvert will show Dpx as a recognized image format:

This is just ROP Subnet with a SHOP network in it to hold the VEX Pathcache shader. The parameters for normal PBR stuff and the additional caching parameters are found in the Bonus PBR tab in the Properties section of the ROP.

This Digital Asset is for shader building testing. It includes a scene suitable for Shader testing with various models, a set of lights configured with the 3-Lights method and two render nodes.

Using the Digital Asset:

Inside the node parametres is a Configuration Tab

-Shader This will be Material node or shader you wish to test

-Test Object The DA comes with 5 testing objects including a sphere, cube, platform, teapot and ball-holder (all includes UV’s)

-UV Scale Here you can adjust the UV’s of the testing objects

-Shader Quality The shading quality for the shaders applied to the testing objects

-Environment Map With this on, the render will include a semi-sphere that surrounds the scene

-Reflection Objects This will include in the render, some objects away from the testing object, for testing reflective shaders

-Environment Map If you selected the Environment Map checkbox, this will be the shader applied to the semi-sphere

Relief Mapping Shader

This a Relief Mapping shader with binary search as seen on the Policarpo/Oliveira 2005 paper. I cant guarantee that it's accurate but seems ok so far.

It creates a virtual displacement effect within a surface shader, by appropriately distorting uv coordinates.

Not sure how much mileage you can get from this... it's more of a curiosity, the main limitations are:

- No silhouettes, it's like looking through a window. - No self shadowing (yet) - Shadows from other objects aren't distorted - The displacement only affects things that take uv's as input. - Doesn't work so good with Micropoly renderer specially if using the height output in a bumpmap shader as opposed to a normal map (normal map shader included)

As such it's probably best to think of it as a sort of super bump mapping and keep the displacement quite low (saya third or less than I used in the renders)... which in turn means you can use much less samples.
