Driven OBJ

HDK object null who's position is "driven" by another object using a lookup table of transforms. Seeks to mimic the Maya "set driven key" functionality without the need for Chops and/or expressions. Handy for character setups.

Compiled for H8.0.383 source code provided.

This will generate a line along the animation path of its parent or a selected object.

Originally submitted by Edward Lam, Jason Iversen added the ability to bake off the trail to a seperate locked object. Graham Thompson added the ability to add the object's velocity/acceleration to the line, fixed an issue where you would encounter problems when setting the start frame not equal to 1, added a help card and replaced the HScript code with a Python HDA Module. Some parameter names/labels have also changed slightly.

Version 1.2 of a new idea for how to capture and deform characters. The best description I have for this comes courtesy of Mario it's inter-bone bridging -- a directed, cross-spatial component. It augments the concept of capture regions by being able to work *between* the implicit spaces of all (local) capture regions.

Or put another way it captures by defining surface features, and attempts to create bone driven animation without the need for weight painting.

Oh and this one also comes with help :)

Added some extra features, cleaned out redundant ones, and general fixed bugs.

Very simple melt effect. Only works in the Y axis at the moment. There's only one input, see the example file to see what it does. Just thought I'd test this new exchange thingy.

Warp mesh

New improved HDK version of the mean value coordinate system. This allows you to specify a coordinate system using an arbitary mesh (taken from a siggraph paper by Tao Ju, Scott Schaefer, Joe Warren )

Windows compile only but source code provided. Please feel free to modify. Use at own risk, let me know if you find bugs and I'll do what I can to fix them.

It now comes as capture and deform nodes for realtime speed.

Skin Wrap

Ok it's back. Version 2. Having looked at this a bit more closely it turned out to be a bit trickier than just using the lattice sop, it now uses frames of reference created at each point so as to deal with rotation as well as translation. The full story is on odforce. Anyway I made some changes and here are the results.

Skin Wrap is an otl that uses a couple of custom vex sops to mimick the 3DS Max skin wrap deformer with radius painting. (Sesi please note how much easier this would be if we could export the paint handle to an hda)

Biovision .bvh mocap bone padder

This perl script will add a redundant bone to the end of each skeleton branch since the houdini conversion script mcbiovision drops the last bone in any branch. You get your fingers, toes and heads back!

$ bvhpad.pl orignal.bvh > padded.bvh

$ mcbiovision padded.bvh

My perl is so rusty the engine has fallen out, so caveat emptor. Most especially if your motion data lines have a leading space it screws up horribly. Someone fix that.. please?

Parents SOP

An HDK sop for parenting points and prims to objects. Its a multiparm sop that allows you to attach groups of points/prims etc. to animating objects.

Re-Compiled for windows H8.0.508 includes source code. Fixed a bug when more than 10 parents were used. Unfortunately this will break hip files using the previous version, so stuff will have to be re-captured.

Path Deform SOP

A sop that deforms input geometry according to a given path curve. For this to work make sure the geometry is aligned in the Z axis. It is based on WireCapture and WireDeform SOPs. Have fun!
