In this introductory workshop we will be learning various procedural techniques to generate land masses. Topics covered will include using COPs to drive 3D terrain generation, creating terrain from closed curves, and using VOPSOPs to generate surface detail. We will continue the workshop by creating a cave structure and arches using VDBs. Attributes will be calculated to automatically add scree fields. For more advanced studies we will look at how to create your own VEX based OTL for pattern generation. We will finish the workshop by using VDBs to embed minerals/gems into rock structures. .
