SIDE EFFECTS SOFTWARE ADJUSTS PRICES FOR
Now individual artists and small studios have more affordable
TORONTO: June 10, 2010 - Side Effects Software, an industry leader in 3D animation and visual effects software, is pleased to announce new pricing for Houdini Master workstation and for rentals of all Houdini products. The workstation version of Houdini is now available for $6,695 which offers a saving of $1,300 over the former price.
“For freelancers and small studios, we wanted a more affordable entry point.” explains Kim Davidson, President and founder of Side Effects Software. “The new pricing for a Houdini Master workstation license will put the power of Houdini’s procedural node-based workflow into more artists’ hands.”
Houdini rentals have been rolled back by up to 50% with Houdini Escape available for as low as $355 per month, Houdini Master for as low as $1,145 per month and Houdini Batch for $275 per month. If you commit to rent any of these products for three months or more, the monthly rates will be reduced by a further 17%. Rental credits can then be applied to the purchase of the license. Depending on how long you have been renting and when the buyout occurs, you can get up to 95% of the rental fees applied to the purchase.
“Renting gives studios a chance to license Houdini on a project-by-project basis or to ease themselves into a Houdini pipeline,” says Davidson. “The more affordable prices make it much easier to adopt Houdini during the ramp up stage of a project.”
