Logo Animation
Sylvain Riou © 2012

To create the geometry, Sylvain built a profile curve that he deformed using bones. He then extruded it and used an animated carve surface-operator (SOP). The module was then copied along a curve in order to get a good shape with a wire-deformer. Lastly, lattices were used to make corrections on the overall shape of the geometry.

For the rendering he employed ambient lighting , a few area lights and spot lights for the speculars. A basic shader was made using the surface builder and the final render was straitforward using Mantra's raytracer.
