Lesson 9 | Custom Shaders

Using the Mantra Surface Shader is great but what if you want to create your own custom look or what if you do not want to use bitmaps created in Photoshop as your material. This week we dive into VOP SHOPs and create a procedural shader from scratch. We will explore the VOPs the nodal equivalent to the VEX language. Will learn about the lighting and surface model. How to promote parameters to the user level and tweak are user interface.
