Houdini Main Changelogs

Houdini 6.1.41 Changed the compproject so that if the depth is specified, but black and white points are not, then it resets the black and white points to the default for that depth. Wed. June 11, 2003
Houdini 6.1.41 Fixed rmands when creating an operator type library for the shaders. Wed. June 11, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 The new "scale" attribute used in instancing now occurs with the correct transform order to avoid shearing when rotations are involved. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 The OpenGL output driver now has parameters to specify format and options for the format. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Cone lights with cone angles larger than 90 degrees will now display correctly in the viewports. If the sum of the cone angle and the cone delta is larger than 180, then the light cannot be displayed as a cone light in OpenGL. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Fixing a bug where deleting a node that passed some tiles through might crash the compositor on subsequent cooks. This bug only showed up when checkpointing was turned on. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 The UV viewport now has two additional entries under the selector menu allowing the user to select all elements (of the current selection type) from all the visible front or back facing polygons. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Fixed bug where pasting the third key of a channel before its first key would result in a non-displayed channel segment in the Channel Editor. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Fixed channel referencing problems when asked to evaluate beyond the ends of a channel. This bug mainly manifested itself where interactive changing of referenced parameters would not update if at a frame that was beyond the last key of a channel. This applied to expressions since they're created as single keys at frame 1. Tue. June 10, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 When dragging and dropping parameters onto the Type Properties dialog to create new linked parameters, Houdini now does more checking to ensure that a valid link will be established. There is also now an option to disallow linking of parameters from outside the current subnet. Any parameters that cannot be linked present a warning dialog with an explanation of why the link was not established. Mon. June 9, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Fixed a problem with saving operator types with parameters that contain back slashes in their default values, callbacks, or help text. Each time the operator type was saved, the number of back slashes would double. As well, certain strings involving back slashed and quotes could cause Houdini to generate invalid operator type definitions. To fix a definition that has be broken this way, edit the DialogScript section in the Edit Contents dialog to eliminate strings with back slashes or quotation marks. Mon. June 9, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Added an Accept button to the popup node tree browser window available from the Type Properties dialog Parameters tab. Hitting this button behaves exactly as if the currently selected item in the tree were dropped onto the Parameters list. Mon. June 9, 2003
Houdini 6.1.40 Parameters with menus can now specify the style of menu to use. The default is the current exclusive menu. The new choices are a non-exclusive menu which replaces the current text, and a non-exclusive menu which toggles the menu value in the text. Mon. June 9, 2003
Houdini 6.1.39 Fixed typo's in the irradiance VOP. Mon. June 9, 2003
Houdini 6.1.37 Shift+clicking in the scope button of a channel groups entry now appends to the scope instead of replacing. Sat. June 7, 2003
Houdini 6.1.37 Fixed various channel scoping problems. Scoping and keying channels from OBJ/SOP viewer and handles now always properly follow channel references. Sat. June 7, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 The tree view of all channels in the Persistent Handle Editor dialog or the popup tree browser from the Parameters page of the Type Properties dialog would not update when a parameter was added or removed from an operator type. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 .chan and .clip files are now written with double precision. This means the file sizes will be larger, but ensures that they will have the same values as the .bclip. This also causes .bchan (which goes through .clip) to use its maximum precision. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 The rest of the Houdini UI is no longer frozen when the Edit Contents dialog is up. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 The compfree command now does as advertised. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 In the Type Properties dialog, when creating autolinked parameters, the error messages in the case of bad node and channel names are more descriptive. Also added a warning when a parameter is being linked to a node outside the current subnet. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 Fixed bug where the channelcopy would leave uninitialized data for some operations when the first input was a floating point image. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 Fixed bug where a race condition could cause Halo to reference null memory and crash. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 Fixed problem where compositing sections of the foreground image that are outside the frame onto a bigger frame would result in correct composites. Fri. June 6, 2003
Houdini 6.1.36 Changed the way object selection behaves when select entire subnets is turned off. Now selecting an object which is not selectable will select its parent subnet (if it is selectable). Thus it is now possible to select subnet objects even when select entire subnet is turned off. The selected subnets can even be contained in other subnets themseleves instead of being at the current viewing level. Also, when select entire subnet is turned on, it is possible to select a subnet by picking a child object even if the selectable flag of that child object is turned off. Fri. June 6, 2003
