Houdini Main Changelogs
|Houdini 4.9.434|| Previously sesictrl used the value of the SESI_LMHOST variable to figure out which license server to communicate with. Now, sesictrl will query hserver (if it's running) to find out the license host. If this fails, then the value of the SESI_LMHOST variable is used. There is now also a command line option to override the behaviour and specify the license server host manually. For example:
% sesictrl -i -h someserver
will query the licenses on the host someserver without querying hserver or using the SESI_LMHOST variable.

|Houdini 4.9.434|| It is now possible to get the version of sesinetd which is running by running the command:
% sesictrl -v
This will print out the version information of sesinetd. If, instead of getting the version information, a list of licenses are printed out, sesinetd is an earlier version than 4.9.433.

|Houdini 4.9.434||Viewport types and names are now saved to the help file as well. Other saved data associated with the viewport name will now no longer fail to load just because the viewport names in the current Houdini differ from those when the hip file was saved.||Tue. July 31, 2001|
|Houdini 4.9.434||Added new viewname command which allows the renaming of viewports, as well as the new expression function vpname which takes a viewer name and a quadrant number and returns the viewport name.||Tue. July 31, 2001|
|Houdini 4.9.434||The key to change to the "favourite" state is now 's'. Pressing escape in the geometry viewer will enter the view state now, regardless of the setting of the "favourite" state.||Tue. July 31, 2001|

|Houdini 4.9.430||PolySplit SOP has new option "Path Type". When Path Type is set to "Shortest Distance", it behaves as it has in the past. If it is set to "Refine Quad Strips", it will try to perform something like an insert isoparm, but on polygons. The Quad cut won't work through vertices and through anything other than quads. Also, a Quad cut that crosses itself will probably give undesired results.||Fri. July 27, 2001|

July 25, 2001|
|Houdini 4.9.430|| The hconfig command now has an option to print out path information. For example:

|Houdini 4.9.430||All channels are created with the "Extend" behaviour rather than "Hold" behaviour. This means outside their defined frame ranges the closest segment's expression is evaluated instead of just propogating its last value. This is very useful for many expressions which are frame independent.||Tue. July 24, 2001|
