Houdini 5.1.83 The graph mode of the channel editor will now update when changing the pending values (ie. values at a particular time that no key exists) of a channel as a yellow square. Note though that the proper channel interpolation will not be shown until the value is committed (ie. key is created). Sun. April 14, 2002
Houdini 5.1.83 The playbar now supports middle mouse dragging on the thumb to hold the values of all currently scoped channels. This is equivalent to doing the "chhold -b" command when you start dragging and then doing a "chhold -e" command when you release the thumb.

Middle mouse dragging on the timebar in the graph mode of the channel editor also does the same thing.

Sun. April 14, 2002
Houdini 5.1.83 There is a new chhold command which allows channels to be put into a "hold" state. The help for the command via "help chhold" shows the following:

        Usage: chhold [-b | -e] [channel_patterns]
              Or: chhold [-s] [-l]

Allows putting of channels into a "hold" (or pending) state at the
current time. This can be used in conjunction with the chcommit command
to force the creation of keys.

        Options:
-b (begin) Turn on the hold status for the given channels so
that they remain in a pending state even if time
changes. If no patterns are given, then all
currently scoped channels will be affected.
-e (end) Releases the previously held channels. If no
patterns are given, then it will release all held
                                                channels.
