Houdini Main Changelogs
|Houdini 6.0.26||At low network LOD, the tile can be CTRL-clicked to connect the tile. The connections currently work from first output to first input.||Tue. August 13, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.26||The links between operators now have a right-mouse menu with options to disconnect the link, to reconnect either the input or the output, as well as select the input and output.||Tue. August 13, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.22||Can now use $NPT in the Fixed Points field of the softbody pop.||Fri. August 9, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.22||Fixed bug in the pop viewer which allowed the reset flag to change yellow when the user changed the cook flag in the current subnet, while on the first frame.||Fri. August 9, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.22||The default compression mode for TIFF files was changed to deflate compression instead of LZW compression.||Thu. August 8, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.21||Preliminary support for area light sources has been added to mantra. Mantra currently supports line, grid and disk lights. In the current implementation, the light shader will be called multiple times (based on the sample parameter passed in the light object).||Thu. August 8, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.21|| Preliminary support for area lights has been added to Houdini. The light object now has parameters to control the shape, size and sampling controls for area light sources.
When rendering with MentalRay, the shapes defined are mapped as follows:
Line Light: A cylindrical light defined along the x axis. The length of the cylinder is specified by the area light size. The radius is 0.001 units.
Grid Light: A rectangular grid of the size specified. The grid is defined in the XY plane in the space of the light.
Disk Light: A disc light oriented in the XY plane. The radius is defined by the size specified.
Sphere Light: The radius of the sphere is defined by the area light size.
Cylinder Light: A tube with a length of 1 unit (in the x-axis of the light source) whose radius is defined by the area size parameter.
Note: All light sources may have scales applied to them on top of the area light size parameter.

|Houdini 6.0.21||Fixed overlapping menu buttons in the operator lists (for input menu buttons).||Thu. August 8, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.19||Added Proxy file support to the File COP & File Still COP, so you can specify a different file for different resolutions.||Tue. August 6, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.15|| Fixed bugs where the pop viewer was not aware of changes in the popnet when it was viewing the subnet. This was a problem since the pop viewer always cooks to the cook node in the popnet.
One seemingly unrelated symptom of this was the yellow reset button not properly working when viewing subnets.
|Fri. August 2, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.14|| The proto_install program now has command line options to install packages.
The usage is:
proto_install -i <install_path> -p <package>
<install_path> is the path to install eg. $HH or $HOME/houdini5.5 <package> is the package name with .inst extension
proto_install -i $HH -p SOP_PointMap.inst$$BLOCKQUOTEC
|Thu. August 1, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.14||Added help for the popview state.||Thu. August 1, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.14||Interactively adding pops in the viewport will now not set the cook flag on the new pop, unless the one we just branched off from was the cook pop.||Thu. August 1, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.13||Fixed bug in linking the OGL diffuse colour for shops when there was no specular colour or it did not occur first in the parameter list.||Wed. July 31, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.13||Made the POP viewer display subnets in the dynamic path gadget as it used to do way back in v3.||Wed. July 31, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.12||There were problems in computing motion blur when generating render scripts for vmantra, mantra3 and mental ray. This could cause bad behaviour (like no motion blur, or backward motion blur).||Tue. July 30, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.12||All default desktops now default to the rounded connection style.||Tue. July 30, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.11||Removed the "Animatable Parameters..." option from handles that are not animatable.||Mon. July 29, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.11||Updated the help for the Copy SOP.||Mon. July 29, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.11|| For illuminance() loops which specified an unusual angle other than PI, 0, the sense of illumination was reversed. This has been fixed, and illumance() loops like:
illuminance(P, nf, radians(45))
will work properly now.
|Mon. July 29, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.11||To edit the name of an op in the worksheet, you have to click on the name where it does not overlap another tile. Clicking on the tile will now take precedence.||Mon. July 29, 2002|
|Houdini 6.0.4||Auto increment of number in node names now respects leading zeros. Thus cutting and pasting test_01 will result in test_02 and not test_2.||Mon. July 22, 2002|
