Houdini 17.5 Nodes TOP nodes

Text to CSV TOP node

Converts some plain text to CSV

On this page

This node will convert a plain text file to CSV based on criteria specified in the parameters. This is often a useful node when paired with the CSV Input node.

Parameters

Parse Method

This menu choice determines how the text file will be parsed to create the CSV file.

One Column Only

This method will create a CSV file with only one column. The entire contents from a line in the text file will be placed into the cell for its corresponding row in the CSV file.

Lexical Split

This method will use Python’s simple lexical analysis module to split each line of the text file. Columns will be created for each element in the resulting array.

Create Columns From Delimiter

This method allows columns to be created using a delimiter. Each line of the text file will be split based on the value of the Delimiter parameter, and columns will be created for each element in the resulting array.

Remove Lines

This parameter is a comma-separated list of lines that should be ignored when parsing the text file.

Delimiter

Used to specify the delimiter character(s) when using the Create Columns From Delimiter parse method.

Remove Empty Columns

Specifies whether empty columns should be removed when using the Create Columns From Delimiter parse method.
