Where can I find the client hserver logs on my machine?

The default location of the log file (hserver.log) according to your operating system:

Windows: C:/Windows/Temp/houdini_temp/hserver.log
Mac: /tmp/houdini_temp/hserver.log
Linux: /tmp/houdini_temp/hserver.log

You can add a custom location for the hserver.log by editing the hserver.ini file:
