I am using H10. I am trying to learn how to shatter objects etc.. I am having touble making this happen! Here is where I am at:

I drop in a primitive sphere or box. Change it to polygon mesh
I go in to the oject mode and add a shatter node.
Then add an assemble node
I then make the object a rbd fractured object
add a ground plane
then drop the object from a few meters.
If I am lucly one small peice falls off.

can some one describe the basic entry level technique for this??

Have a look at the attached file.

Most of them are the standard values and settings on the nodes. The only adjustment is on the RBD Fractured Object node. In the groupmask put piece*, this will ensure that only the shattered pieces are pulled into the simulation and not the inside and outside group that are created by the shattered tool. Secondly, on the collision -> surface tab I changed the surface representation from points to edges. This will take care of some self intersection that might happen when the pieces break.
