Just create a point attribute called “width” and give it a value. That will allow you to do interesting stuff like varying the width of the rendered line along it's length and stuff…

Thanks, rafaels! that's cool tip!

it seems the “width” point attrib can also affect the size of particles as rendered

pls see the test below with randomized width and size for both the curve and the points …

it's 12am Sat now, I'm just like the image with bits of thoughts irrelevant to each other popping out randomly and my dizzy mind swirling up …… (I'm not high!)

I didn't look at your file, but it looks like you want to only apply the width attribute to the points of your curve?

Hi, I installed the latest Houdini 12.0.564 and render the same scene as shown above using the same hip file downloaded from this post, but I get some strange results regarding ambient occlusion rendering.

Pls see the image below which has some bright splotches that are supposed to be dark according to my previous rendering as shown in my previous post.

Pls kindly advise why there's the artifacts.

Thanks!

Occlusion does seem somewhat broken > emailed support about it . On a side note to get you over the bump. Go onto my site, you will find a setup I use for rendering occlusion
