hi,
I would want to disable shadow casting for diffuse rays for a specific geometry in PBR.
How should i do it?

Maybe I misunderstand your requirements, but having the needed geometry in it's own OBJ, and then adding ^obj_name to the shadow mask of the light(s) you want should do it (?)

If you want to disable the shadows for only diffuse and not specular, then I suppose you need to duplicate your light, with the other one only having Diffuse Contribution enabled and the other Specular Contribution..

hehey!

actually my light is geometry based (emission & diffuseDepth > 0) and i guess this sort of light linking is not possible?
prove me wrong!

even though it is possible to get rid of shadows generated by secondary diffuse bounces (by modifying shaders), the easiest way is to use geometry light for that, they have shadow mask and you will get cleaner light sampling in the first place
