Now that the HDK is included in v7(never thought I'd be writing that! ), I wonder if it makes more sense to “fold it into” the disribution a little more. Primarily, why not move the contents of $HFS/toolkit/bin into $HFS/bin ? Either that, or change $HFS/houdini_setup* to add the toolkit bin dir to the user's path. It would let a user run the sample installs right out of the box once hdkinstall has been run.

Yes please … It gets old having to edit the houdini_setup file all the time just to have the toolkit bin added to your path.
