I thought there was a Houdini expression to detect the nearest primitive to a point (or location), but I can't seem to locate it.

Does anyone know if that expression exists or an efficient way to do this in sops?

You're looking for “xyzdist” using a prim_num of -1 (see “exhelp xyzdist”).

Thanks, I read the help on that before but I guess I just stopped reading after it says “…specified sop's primitive.”
