Hi, I noticed Houdini doesn't create “projects” like XSi or Maya, with subfolders such as “pictures”, “scènes”, “render_pictures”, etc.
How do you deal with that? Do you create subfolder with the same structure as a Softimage project?
Thanks and happy new year!!!

There is a structure but it has do be done manually. In H14 you will get a project manager if you can wait the 15.01.15 will be your date. :-)

Hey just one more question : in which folder in the project should I put *.hip files? In the HDA folder?

The structure itself suggests you drop them at project level so you will use $JOB/geo and $JOB/renders but $JOB/filename.hip

I don't particularly like it but I see why they have gone in this direction, it is simple and $JOB and $HIP are unified so kind of makes sense.

I do create my own hip folder though.

Thanks a lot Jordi!
And thanks for your answer on the shared properties, I was waiting to experiment a bit on your solutions before replying…
Have a nice end of weekend! 8)
