How can I restore the Desktops to the Factory's default settings?

From the main top menu, Settings > Desktops. Delete all the ones that have $HOME as a location using the menu to the left of the names. The shorter way is to go to your $HOME/houdini7.0/desktop directory and delete them (without houdini running!).
