Hi all,

I have installed the latest Houdini apprentice and am having some scene view issues.

When I create an obj the smooth shaded display is not working, obj is invisible.

Also the persp cam does not tumble, its locked.

The first time I ran the program everything was fine. After shutting it down and re-opening the above issues occurred.

Is there any known bug fix for this?
Any advise appreciated.

Hi, you really need to post your system specs. In OSX there are countless display issues due to Apple controlling the graphics drivers.

It seems to be an open GL issue.

This thread sounds like the exact same issue

Until this gets fixed I think my only options is to install ubuntu

So I'm looking through the list of supported cards

http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2680&Itemid=390 [sidefx.com]

It says
Nvidia GEForce 8000M series, 9000M series, GT 100M to 900M series. x50 or higher (eg, GTX 650).

Isn't the GeForce GTX 765M under the “or higher” category?

Yes, it is. While we support it, GEForce drivers have a tendency to regress a lot more than Quadro drivers, so you do need to be more careful when installing or updating drivers, and willing to roll the driver back if things go squirrely. I've found major driver version jumps are the most likely to have issues (ie, 345 to 347).

I would suggest trying an earlier driver, like 341.44 or 345.20, to see if that works (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us) [nvidia.com]

Thanks, I tried several previous drivers including the ones you mentioned, unfortunately it didn't solve the problem.

I'll keep an eye on the daily builds and hopefully the issue get resolved eventually.

I am in the process of both downloading the latest build and uploading a video to vimeo detailing my display issues.

I will start a new thread when these things are done, but I was hoping to do a demo to a class at the University, but I cant really do it at the moment with the build that I am on: 14.0.258

What are the chances I could get a dl of 13.x.y or a fix for 14.0.x by thursday?
