Hi I'm completely new to Houdini. Is this part of Houdini. Is it a plugin, and if so where can I get it? or is the video a tutorial showing procedural plants generation using the normal Houdini tools?

Thanks

@Jake Lara
as described at the vimeo link:
“Implemented by python, HDK, and a few standard nodes.”

HDK stands for Houdini Development Kit - so C++

There are probably no easy way to do it. This guy just shown his own tool made for his project. i bet it took a big amount of time to implement it all in hdk.

If you still want easy way, you could look at speedtree plugin. It has houdini connection. But i don't see a real reason for this variant, why you need houdini at all then? The strength of houdini is ability to create such tools by yourself without plugins.

If you want to learn you have to look at lsystems tutorials. https://vimeo.com/51771303 [vimeo.com]
