Hi,

I've just upgraded my Macbook Air to El Capitan and updated Houdini Apprentice to h15. It really doesn't work. With just a cube in the viewport the lag makes it unusable.

My Macbook is a little old (2011 with Intel graphics card)

Anyone know how to fix?

Thanks

Intel Chipsets are not supported as Apple is not updating the necessary openGL Drivers.
Houdini right now is bit of luck game on Intel Graphics Macbooks sadly…

Oh dear. So do you think it would work using an older version of Houdini?
And I suppose my MacPro dustbin will be ok as it's an AMD card?

I think Version 13 and earlier should work, because they use the old OpenGL 2 Model.
But it maybe Version 13 that introduced this. Can't remember actually. Then 12.5 should work.

But assuming your are not willing to do hardcore simulations on a Macbook Air anyway, maybe H13 will be just fine?

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl.

FWIW, if you want to dual boot Windows, you ‘should’ be able to run H15 on the Intel GPU. I was able to run it on a Surface Pro 3, similar to MBA, under W10.

H12.5 doesn't work either. Can run the Administrator Tools (Can't even click on anything)

Anyone know if Houdini run ok on a Surface Pro 4?
I realise it's not any good for anything processor heavy but I really like being about to just play around and learn on a laptop.
