Spring SOP: Add colliding points to fixed points group?

Hi! I am trying to get a very sticky, stringy fluid look. I'm using a Spring SOP and getting very close to what I want for the base structure. What I would really like to do is get the spring to add points that collide with scene geometry to the fixed points group, meaning that when they collide with something, they will stick there for the duration of the simulation.

Thoughts? I imagine a SOP Solver could help with this, but I'm at a loss as to how to go about it.
