what settings should I use for the cooking cahche to ensure that the for example when the I have auto update on my computer doesnt take forever to preveiw one frame

my computer is alot stonger then the ones at school but they process my file must faster so Im assuiming my settings are wrong

install linux you get stability, speed and a solid opengl viewport for free.

for mac osx i can't give you tips… on what type of OS(OSX / Windows / Linux) is the school?
