Hello! Can we assume QT4 builds will still be posted for daily builds? (They're currently missing)

Call me a little whining negative Nancy here But i feel lately that the daily builds should be called “monthly” builds… or am i checking the wrong link?
Cheers,
A.

it can sometimes depend on what OS install you're looking for. there may be an issue with Windows (or whatever) that causes the daily build to fail but these things are addressed right away.

Cheers. Perhaps i'm not undererstanding properly. But is “houdini-16.0.557-win64-vc14.exe” being updated everyday and keeping the same name? Or am i to expect a new name (558, 559, 560… etc) for each new daily build?
Thanks,
A.

daily builds means that for each working day there is one new build for the common client. so you are correct for each day there is a new nameing with a new number.
on the same day there wouldn't be multiple builds public or i haven't seen them or the big studios have got another access to the builds. when you analyse the first H16 build it had more suffixes then normal that's indicates internally SESI has much much more builds then we see public.
Example: houdini-16.0.504.20-win64-vc14.exe
maybe someone from SESI can tell it better but one thing is for sure it's much better then a service pack release cycle

There's two builds - Production and Daily. And both are listed on the same page unless you have the top of the page set to something else other than the “All”.
Production builds don't change on a daily basis.( They are the ones with the green check marks ).
Typically ( from the few times I've looked ), sometime after midnight ( I believe they are using EST ) if there is a change log from the previous day with the ‘new’ daily build number, it will become available on the download page.
I don't always go to download page, but I do look at change log page.
Currently only daily build 576 is available. Although the change log is showing a 557 from yesterday, looks like it's not up yet.
I believe your mixing up daily with production builds.
And if it's a particular ‘issue’ you want to keep tabs on it's better to check the change log page daily. Because it will tell you what changes have been made. Then you'll know if it's worth your time to do the download.

Thanks, i understand now. I was indeed mixing things up. So i should install 576 to see some issues addressed, but perhaps at thecosts of some other instabilities?
Thanks a lot.

577 with green check mark means production build…it won't change often.
Daily build will - right now that is 556.
To know what is in daily build changes, look at change/log page first to see what changes have been made to date.

Wow, i was really reading it all wrong. Kinda misguiding to have the latest builds “under” an older one, really :$
I automatically did read 556, instead of what wa sthere 576. Since i'm the only to complain about that, all on me. guess it's just bad luck with speed reading and almost matching numbers.
Sorry for wasting you guys time. Cheers.

You haven't been the only one. I was confused when I first started looking around on those pages; thinking the same thing…Kinda misguiding to have the latest builds “under” an older one…
We will do something about the Downloads page to clarify which builds are which.
Sorry for the confusion we have caused.
