I just tried it again and it's still installing 16.0.600 for me. Does the file you download say 599 or 600?

One thing to keep in mind is that if you have an old Houdini .dmg file already mounted then mounting a newer .dmg file may cause Finder to actually open the old one.

That's bitten me a few times so I always make sure that I don't have any previous Houdini dmg files mounted at /Volumes/Houdini before I open a freshly downloaded dmg file.

For future releases I think it might be worth looking into creating versioned mount points like /Volumes/Houdini16.0.599 and /Volumes/Houdini16.0.600. That might help Finder avoid this problem.

Cheers,
Rob

Did a quick search to make sure but no older .dmg files showed up (I don't remember there being a .599 build?). Anyway, not a big deal, I'll just jump to .603.

Thanks

download link for .603 is downloading .600 hmmmm

EDIT - and now it's working - very weird! .603 is installed. Not sure what to make of it.

Sorry Chris, missed this earlier. File says .600 but installed .599. Kevin

Finally got back to looking into this.

As Rob suspected, there were old Houdini volumes still mounted. Ejected them and that solved it. Thanks Rob.
