Fatal error: Segmentation Fault

After just installing and running Houdini Apprentice 16.0.705, I right clicked in the nodes panel and clicked on Geometry and then I instantly got an error message(checked attachment picture)

any clues?

I have a windows 7 system and i also clipped a image of my specs.

Try installing the Qt4 build on the downloads page [www.sidefx.com]. People have been seeing some mysterious issues with the regular build (using Qt5) that may be graphics driver related, but they seem to be less prevalent in the Qt4 build. Please let us know if that helps.

same results with the QT4 version, I tried Houdini 15 on this system before and it worked flawlessly so I don't know what the issue is, can it be out of date drivers or something?

Thanks for trying it. What graphics card are you using, and what graphics driver version?

It may not be “out of date” drivers. Quite often the most recent driver is buggy for certain cards, so you might have to switch to an older graphics driver.

np, thanks for the suggestion & I see, all my drivers are up to date according to the windows device manager, so I'll probably just download a older version of Houdini, any idea on how long till these errors with new drivers are sorted out?

It probably won't work to download an earlier version of Houdini. It's likely a graphics driver bug, not a Houdini bug. What graphics card are you using, and what graphics driver version?

Hi Esad! If you can log a bug with your system and graphic card specs, we can take this offline instead of going back and forth in a forum post, which is definitely not the way we want to handle this. Thanks!
