I inherited a macbook (OSX Snow Leopard) from a friend and it appears to have a partially removed install of houdini; nothing in the Applications folder but a Houdini.framework folder in /Library/Frameworks containing around 760 MB. I noticed because at one point sesinetd was taking up 50% processor. How do I fully remove this program and license manager? Can I just delete the Houdini.framework folder and reboot?

yes, you can just delete the Houdini Framework directory:
/Library/Frameworks/Houdini.framework/

but you should also delete the file that launches sesinetd:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.sidefx.sesinetd.plist
and also (if it's there):
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.sidefx.hqserver.plist

That should complete the Houdini cleanup on your laptop.
