Hi everyone,

im trying to build a simple setup for an animal walking in the sand. in my first test i had a lot of particle shaking on the ground during the whole animation. to avoid that i tried to play with awaken by geometry node and tik the auto sleep box in my grain solver.

-first i thought this tool was made to optimize simulation and gain simulation time but for the moment it seems to make it longer by calculating the volume of the moving shape.

-then i think that im obviously missing something because my particles fall asleep but never awaken by the moving shape

please someone have tips on this?

i put in attachement my scene and the alembic i use for the sim

thank you very much!

I think your problem might be that you need to Unpack the Alembic before you pass it on to VDB From Polygons which makes the volume you are referencing in the DOP network. If you middle click on the Alembic you will see that it is packed so there are no polygons until you unpack. Also you must unpack more than 1 iteration to actually drill down into the Alembic hierarchy to reach the stored polygons.
