Hi,

I just found that it slows down when switching of the scene view compared to without the ruler or the reference plane.

does anybody know what the reason is?

The ruler and grid shouldn't be slowing things down much at all, unless there is a graphics driver or hardware issue. What GPU, OS and driver version are you running? And how much of a slowdown are you seeing?

approx. 1 sec delay.

Hardware: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB on mac pro.
