Hello im new to houdini im switching from c4d to houdini and i need to make some realistic fur. I whant to use render man whit my indie licence but i dont understand why is no working ?

i put a renderman node in the render section put a light for renderman and when i press render in the render view its make loading scène and nothing happen or houdini just crash

if you have a recent tutorial how how to use renderman ? i take it ;-)

that i dont understand is environement variable what is this and how a configure houdini for this ?

The /.env file you need to edit is located here on macOS:

~/Library/Preferences/houdini/16.5/houdini.env

I think the rest of the setup should be the same as the video. Just add these lines:

# Renderman
RMANTREE=/Applications/Pixar/RenderManProServer-21.0
PATH=$RMANTREE/bin:$PATH

Replacing 21.0 with whatever version you’re using.

but still not working i have modified the file select renderman in houdini hos is showed in the vidéo but nothing
between “rendererman” that I can't activate and Arnold who doesn't calculate an image if I give him an hdri it's hard to get started. for arnold I have to create a variable environment to give it the license server port but I don't know how to write it “ solidangle_LICENSE=5053@localhost (change port and server if necessary)
