Hi!

I wanted to make a fancy portrait with a nice frame. I tried to have a bunch of circles to sweep around a rectangle (grid) but the sweep doesn't get how to skin it correctly since there are many shapes instead of just one shape made of those circles.

Any hints on how to boolean 2d circles together so I can easily sweep just one shape?

It's hard to visualize what the result is you want.
Diagram or example hip file?
There's at least one school like the old school!

there is no need to boolean them
especially if they are not touching it would be a problem anyway

just change Cycle Type on Sweep SOP to One Primitive At A Time

however if it's really the shape boolean you are after
just append boolean and afterwards Divide SOP with Remove Shared Edges checked

Ahh! The “Primitive At A Time” in the sweep sop did the trick.

…and the “remove shared edges” also works well after the boolean.

Thanks!
