Hi,

Let me say up front that I hate Windows.
I'm a Mac user, but have a Windows machine as Houdini is more stable on Windows with nVidia drivers (for Octane and Redshift.)

Does anyone else have the issue of having Windows decide it's going to do an update in the middle of a render and simply restart.

How do you deal with it?

I want to eventually install Linux, but I also use Adobe and C4D and it's an issue there as well.

Any solutions offered would be appreciated.

Look into disabling automatic device updates under advanced system settings, however its all or nothing.
Also you can set your internet connection to ‘metered’ and Windows will just check for updates but not download.

Consider upgrading to Windows 10 Pro for Workstations.

Running Win 10 non-pro from almost since it's out. Never happened to restart in the middle of something. All updates are installed upon shutdown/startup. There are settings for Windows Update in the Settings section.
