Dear Jeff,

From time to time, I spend some time just clicking every button there is in Houdini to discover new things.
If we click Tools > Show Groups in the network editor a mysterious and probably ancient relic of the past is shown. I have never understood the meaning of this window and can not find any documentation.

Would you mind sharing what this windows is for and if it has any practical uses today?

Cheers,

Alex

After some digging I figured out its basic functionality (saving node selections). Would still be interested to hear when this window was created, and if you have any smart use case examples. Seems this windows is a bit buggy also, locking up Houdini randomly..

this window is for Node Groups - it's been around for a very long time, but at some point there were some changes made to the default hotkeys and it got lost
I find it VERY usful in rigging, to keep track of bones, nulls etc
if you find any but please let us know how to reproduce them
