Hi,
i'm building a rock merging simple modelling and VDB's,
after add simple noise in volume VOP,
there is a lot of holes and artefacts,
before VOP, VDB is filled and looks good,
and question about scale:
right now the rock is 10 times bigger than human,
adding noise and reducing voxel size from 0.1 to ex. 0.08
makes cooking from 10 seconds to 10 minutes,
does the scale influence on this???
—
edit: ok, i added two turbulent noises in VOP,
every one with other frequency,
after first noise displacement is good,
but after add second noise pops out holes like on the image below…
VDB artefacts...

VDBs are sparse so if you shift values by more than narrow band distance you'll simply shift limit surface to areas with no voxels
so if you want to use Volume VOP/Weangle to alter the values, make sure your narrow band width covers the whole offset range by increasing Band Voxels on VDB from Polygons or using VDB Activate SDF
for simple cases you can as well use VDB reshape and reshape by some volume noise masks which would recompute narrow band properly during reshaping
