I've got a particle simulation generated by an external code that interacts particles that emit and absorb other particles, as well as change their own characteristics (neutral atoms, vs positive & negative ions, etc.). I can generate the simulation output as a table in python/numpy.
Is there any guide or tutorial to how I could import this table into Houdini to build the particles with their different characteristics and install the keyframes for their motion?
I'm presently looking at making a simple scene with templates for the different particles with some keyframes, then exporting it as python code. Then I'd use the exported code structures and port them to regenerate the geometry from the data in the simulation table.
Unless there is a more elegant way? I've heard about NCSA's yt interface, but that's a different critter than my simulation.
Thanks,
Tom
