Hi. I'm having trouble figuring out how to increase the number of colors in my renders. My renders look as though they are only displaying a dozen colours and therefore lack any kind of accuracy or aesthetic appeal. Any idea how to adjust color/bit depth? I tried lowering dithering, didn't help. Thanks in advance.

You can change the quantization of the render. Its on the “Specific Tab” of the Mantra ROP.

Default is 8 bits per channel.

However I think there is something else is wrong. What is your display colors set to for your OS?

Windows? Linux?

I think Wolfwood is right; it's probably a hardware/driver incompatibility in MPlay.

In Mplay, hit “d” for Display Options, click on Video Hardware Settings and select “Best compatability” and see if anything improves.

Thanks. The quantization settings were what I was looking for.
