As of Houdini 16.5.591, support for Houdini heightfields to Unity terrain have been vastly improved.

  • Added support for all layers, with UI to set terrain alphamap textures. More info here: https://www.sidefx.com/docs/unity/_terrain.html#Terrain_Layers [www.sidefx.com]
  • Heightfield sizes causing padding issues have been fixed. Recommend to always use power of 2 plus 1 to appease Unity's terrain size restrictions.
  • Heightfield tile splits should work properly.
  • Output terrain should be positioned correctly.
  • Duplicate Asset should work properly for terrain assets.
  • Rebuild Asset should keep layer overrides, but Reset Parameters will reset them.
