This has been there a while and I just threw my hands up again frustrated that Houdini works this way.
So I have a complicated sim, can be pyro, RBD, terrain, whatever.
It won't fit in memory so the only way to see it is to create flipbook using MPlay.
I see MPlay calculating along and my blue bar cache builds up in the timeline.
HOWEVER, when I cancel out of Mplay and want to return to my work, the blue bar cache I just waited for immediately disappears?
Why does the cache disappear when MPlay closes?
I don't want to lose the time I just waited for? Often I may just want to re-frame and view the simulation from another angle.
Can Houdini be configured to NOT DISCARD a cache when MPlay closes?
