Hi all,

Is anyone able to comment on using Houdini 17 with an Nvidia RTX 2080 ti?

On paper, it meets the OpenGL 3.3 requirement, but then so does my current card (AMD RX 480) and that suffers frequent crashes.

I realise the only guaranteed way to have a smooth Houdini experience is to use a card listed here: https://www.sidefx.com/Support/system-requirements/supported-graphics-cards/ [www.sidefx.com]

but this is a fairly limited list of cards and if I'm going to upgrade, I'd rather use a newer card than a 1080 (I don't see the 1080ti listed).

Thoughts and advice would be much appreciated.

Historically Nvidia cards have always been more stable than AMD with Houdini. Did you ever take the plunge and try it?
