Hello

I keep on getting this warning when opening a certain work file No OpenCL platform has the specified device type (HOUDINI_OCL_DEVICETYPE): GPU. Falling back to built-in CPU OpenCL driver. and its messing up the geometry for some reason in the file itself. Never have had this issue before and I am not so knowledgeable about OpenCL. Any pointers? I am using Houdini Indie 16.5.634

Thanks to Support I've learned that there's an issue with current nvidia drivers, try going back to 416.34.0.0, that has worked for me!

Unfortunately, the old drivers cannot be installed on Windows 10 1809. I hope SideFX fixes this soon. It's a problem in 17.0.352 as well.

Hi, could you share a link to the 416.0.34 driver, I can't find it at all.
Thx in advance

This has been fixed for a while now, no?

Houdini 17.0.416 Updated the OpenCL ICD loader to work with the latest NVIDIA drivers, so that NVIDIA GPUs will again be usable as OpenCL devices within Houdini. Wed. November 28, 2018

Still seems to be an issue for my setup: Win10 64bit, Nvidia 970.

Does OpenCL in Houdini 17 support on AMD HD 7770 graphic cards?
I have the same problem even with explicitly setting environment variables!

I have the same problem. I downgraded my drivers already to 416.34.
In Edit->Preferences->Miscellaneous are no GPU devices available.

It seems my 1060GTX is detected as OpenGL render device but not as OpenCL device.
Is there any solution or workaround?

I'm running on 17.0.352 Apprentice.

Results from hgpuinfo:
OpenGL Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL Renderer: GeForce GTX 1060/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 416.34
OpenGL Shading Language: 4.60 NVIDIA
Detected: NVidia Consumer

416.34.0.0

When i try to fix using

HOUDINI_OCL_DEVICETYPE=GPU

in the houdini.env it doesn`t seem to work in houdini 19.0

Does anyone know how what to put there so it still works in 19 ?
Or if maybe i made a typo ?
