Hi!

I'm using a bunch of erosion here and there and I used the “lock” button on the nodes to freeze at the frame I like most. The problem is when I save the file. I get a 677mb file! What is the best way to select the frame I like and work with that but save the file without those node's huge data? I don't mind that I need to re-cook everytime I open the file, I just don,t want huge file size as I'm working on it…

Try making your own freeze frame with a time shift and a filecache. Then you can write the result to disk.

Heightfield Erode already has Freeze at frame checkbox+slider, isn't that what you are looking for?

Hi tamte,

I looked at every tabs in the erode node and I can't find the “freeze at frame” checkbox. Was that part of an update? I have 16.5.439.

yes, you need at least 17.0.275
otherwise you have to append timeshift yourself
