Hi Guys,

Is there a way to change the animation editor background colour?
The black background to intense for some artists here.

I looked in the 3DSceneColor configuration file, but could not find an entry for the animation editor. Maybe I missed it or maybe I'm not looking in the right file?

Any ideas?

Hi! I can't find this value in Houdini 18. Do you know how to change it in H18 ?

Exit Houdini.
Copy one of the .hcs files (UIDark, for example) from your Houdini installation directory (I'm using Windows as an example):

C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 18.0.xxx\houdini\config (Note: xxx is your Houdini build)

… to:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\houdini18.0\config

Rename the .hcs file to a name that suits you, like <your name>.hcs

Once copied/renamed, edit the new <your name>.hcs file and look for and change the following values:

Scheme: Houdini Dark

Change to:

Scheme: <your name>

ChannelEditorBackground: 0.00 0.00 0.00 // Background of the graph

Change the 0.00 0.00 0.00 values to a colour of your choice

Save file.

Launch Houdini

Main Menu >> Edit >> Color Settings… In the window that opens, select <your name> from the Color Scheme drop down list

You may need to restart Houdini. Hope that helps/works.
